What's new
Zuzu keeps growing, one small change at a time. Here is what changed lately, newest first. Have an idea? Share your feedback.

- The AI Companion feels more like a real conversation. It replies in your language (English, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, German and many more), matches how you write, and keeps it short or goes deeper depending on the moment.
- Reply to a message: swipe right on it, or long-press and tap Reply. Your reply shows a small quote, and tapping the quote takes you to the original.
- Edit your own message for 15 minutes after sending: long-press it and tap Edit. The other person sees a small "edited".
- Chats hold on through a weak connection. If your signal drops, your messages wait and send when you are back, and anything sent to you arrives too. If the other person drops, you see that they are reconnecting.
- Tap a photo in a chat once to see it, and tap again to open it full screen. You can zoom in and move around. There is no download button, to protect the other person.
- Reactions now work on GIFs and photos too, not only on text.
- The last button in the emoji panel now opens every emoji, with search and skin tones.
- This page! Every update to Zuzu, in plain words, newest first.
- The Help others find Zuzu page now lists 19 places where you can leave a kind word, and where Zuzu has been featured.

- React to a message with ❤️ 😂 🫶 😢 🙏 or 👍. On a phone, long-press the message. Double-tap for a quick ❤️.
- Send GIFs in a chat. Like photos, GIFs from the other person arrive blurred until you tap them.
- Paste a photo into a chat with Cmd + V or Ctrl + V. You always see it before it is sent.
- While you wait for a person, you can switch tabs. Zuzu plays a soft sound when someone joins, and can show a notification if you ask it to.
- After a chat, a gentle "How did you feel?". It is not a rating. Kind answers send the other person a short, anonymous thank you.
- Links in a chat now copy when you tap them, instead of opening.
- New pages: AI Companion and Feedback. Alternatives now compares Zuzu with twelve other services.

- Community Safety and Privacy & Terms are rewritten in plain words, including exactly what is kept and what is not.
- The FAQ is sorted into six groups, with new answers about safety, photos, the AI Companion and age.
- Photos from the other person in a chat arrive blurred until you tap them.
- When you block someone, the block lasts your whole visit, even if the page reloads.
- The AI Companion always tells you it is an AI if you ask.
- New Ask AI page: see what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others say about Zuzu.
