# Zuzu Club: Full Reference > Zuzu Club is a free, anonymous peer-support and emotional-expression platform. You can vent privately to a stranger, listen to someone who wants to be heard, share anonymous feelings in the Sky of Thoughts, or privately release a worry in Let Go. No signup, login or account is needed. Zuzu is peer support and self-expression, not therapy or a crisis service. Last updated: 25 September 2026. This is the expanded reference for Zuzu Club ([www.zuzu.club](https://www.zuzu.club)). It contains the full context an AI agent or language model needs to understand what Zuzu is, who it serves, how it works, and its boundaries. For the concise version, see [llms.txt](https://www.zuzu.club/llms.txt). ## What's new (25 September 2026) - **Ask AI:** a new [Ask AI page](https://www.zuzu.club/ask-ai) and a small section on the About page. Buttons open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity or Grok in a new tab with a prompt about Zuzu; the page shows the exact prompt and says AI answers can be wrong. A subtle "Ask AI" link is in the footer. - **Three ways to feel lighter:** Zuzu is now explained as private (Let Go), shared (Sky of Thoughts) and with a person (Vent and Listen), on the About page, in the FAQ and here. - **Honest data wording:** Let Go worries are kept privately for analysis and moderation (never public, no name attached). Sky thoughts stay until removed, on request by email. Google Analytics is named. Hosting, OpenAI, an IP location service and an email service are listed as services used. - **Chat moderation, stated plainly:** chats with a person are not read by Zuzu, a person or AI; only a keyword check shows helplines. Privacy-first AI guardrails for chat are being worked on, and experts can offer help at [/support?topic=aiGuardrails](https://www.zuzu.club/support?topic=aiGuardrails). - **Age:** Zuzu does not ask anyone's age. No minimum age; recommended for people 16 and older. - **One consistent description:** the footer, app manifest, page metadata and structured data now all describe Zuzu the same way: a free, anonymous peer-support and emotional-expression platform, not therapy. - **Gentle sharing:** after a chat and after posting a thought, a quiet optional "Share Zuzu" prompt. Never asks for reviews. - **Safety and privacy, in plain words:** [Community Safety](https://www.zuzu.club/safety) now has full Community Guidelines, reporting, blocking, moderation, age and limits. [Privacy & Terms](https://www.zuzu.club/privacy) now says exactly what is and is not kept, and which services are used. - **Blurred photos:** photos from the other person in a chat arrive blurred until tapped. - **Longer blocks:** a block now lasts the whole visit, even if the page reloads. - **AI honesty:** the AI Companion always says it is an AI if asked. - **Grouped FAQ:** the [FAQ](https://www.zuzu.club/faq) is now in six groups, with new answers on moderation, LGBTQ+ safety, harassment, photos, the AI Companion and age. - **Reach out:** readers can ask to talk to the writer of a recent thought who is still on Zuzu. A chat starts only if the writer accepts. - **Replies in the Sky of Thoughts:** kind replies on thoughts, checked automatically; anything that looks off waits for review. - **Safety in every chat:** Get help now, Report and Block, plus gentle care cards when someone may be in danger. - **New pages:** [FAQ](https://www.zuzu.club/faq), [Vent anonymously](https://www.zuzu.club/vent-anonymously), [Talk to a stranger](https://www.zuzu.club/talk-to-strangers), [Alternatives](https://www.zuzu.club/alternatives) (7 Cups, Omegle, Blah Therapy, TalkLife), [Support](https://www.zuzu.club/support) (was Donate) and [Contact](https://www.zuzu.club/contact). - **Forms:** Support has an "Offer your help" form (volunteer, mental health expertise, AI guardrails expertise, skills or resources). Contact has a form for questions, feedback, press or partnerships, and reporting abuse. Every message is read by the founder. - **About:** the founder's story and a one minute video. - **Wording:** Zuzu is described as peer support, self-expression and calm rituals. It is never "like therapy". ## What Zuzu is Zuzu Club is a free, anonymous, no-signup peer-support and emotional-expression platform. People come to Zuzu to say the things they cannot say to the people in their life. They are matched with a real stranger in real time and talk, one to one, for as long as the conversation lasts. Chats are not saved: when one ends, it is gone. It offers three simple ways to feel lighter: - **Private: Let Go.** Release a worry into the night sky. It is never made public or shown to other users. - **Shared: Sky of Thoughts.** Share a feeling anonymously and see what others are feeling too. - **With a person: Vent and Listen.** Talk one to one with a real stranger when you want to be heard, or listen to someone who does. Zuzu is peer support, not therapy, and not a substitute for professional mental health care. It is a place to be heard, not a place to be diagnosed or treated. It is powered by real strangers, with a Zuzu AI Companion stepping in only when no human is available. ## Roles Each visitor chooses one role per session: - **Venter**: someone who needs to be heard. They speak; the other person listens. - **Listener**: someone who chooses to hear someone, offering a supportive, non-judgmental ear to a Venter. - **Explorer**: someone who reads and shares anonymous stories on the Sky of Thoughts rather than entering a live chat. ## How matching works - Venters are matched with Listeners, and Listeners with Venters (opposite roles first). - If no opposite-role partner is available after a short wait, Zuzu offers a same-role match with a clear notice. - If no human partner is available after about 10 seconds, the person can choose to chat with the Zuzu AI Companion, which is clearly labelled as an AI, or keep waiting. ## The Zuzu AI Companion The AI Companion steps in only when no person is free. It is always labelled "Zuzu AI Companion" at the top of the chat, and it is instructed to say honestly that it is an AI whenever someone asks. It is not a person and not a therapist, and it can get things wrong. It stays with feelings and personal life, and gently turns away off-topic requests such as homework, code or trivia. To write its replies, the most recent messages in that chat (up to 15) are sent to OpenAI. Zuzu does not save these chats. If a message suggests someone may be in danger, a free helpline card is shown, just like in chats with a person. ## Anonymous identity Every session is assigned a temporary, poetic two-word name, an adjective paired with a natural element, such as "Serene Stone" or "Quiet Lantern." These names are never linked to a real identity, email, or account. They exist only for the length of a session. ## Interactive rituals Besides chat, Zuzu offers interactive rituals: short, calm moments that help people feel lighter and express their emotions without talking to anyone. There are two today, Let Go and the Sky of Thoughts. Each takes about a minute. ## Sky of Thoughts The Sky of Thoughts is a shared, public space where people post short anonymous reflections. Each thought floats as an emoji over a live sky, soft drifting clouds by day and a starry Milky Way by night, and anyone can tap an emoji to read the story behind it. When someone shares, their thought rises into the sky, lands with a glint, and briefly links to the nearest thoughts, with a quiet message: somewhere, someone has felt this too. Feelings can be chosen from a wide picker (happy, love, heavy and tense). Thoughts are lightly filtered for quality and moderated. Anyone can leave a kind reply on a thought, and thoughts and replies are checked automatically, and anything that looks off waits for review. If the writer of a recent thought is still on Zuzu, the thought glows faintly and a reader can tap Reach out; the writer receives a private invitation (Let's talk / Not now) that ends after a minute, and a 1:1 anonymous chat starts only if they accept. It gives people who are not ready to chat a gentle way to express something and to feel less alone by reading others. For example, someone taps a 😔 and reads "I have good friends, but there are things I have never told anyone", then adds their own thought with a 🌧️. ## Let Go Let Go is a calm, anonymous space to release a single worry. A person writes down what is weighing on them and places it inside a glowing star. When they are ready, the star slowly shrinks and drifts up into the vast night sky over a gentle, guided minute, while soft, personal words keep them company and ambient music plays. As the star recedes, the worry is reframed: small against the size of the universe. An optional emoji can mark the feeling, from five quick picks or a wider picker of heavy, tense, calm and happy feelings. Nothing is required and nothing is shared publicly: no signup, no login, no account. When the star is gone, the worry turns into light: a warm glow rises and golden fireflies drift up, slowly settling as new twinkling stars that briefly join into a small constellation. It is a small ritual for setting something down, not a chat. For example, someone writes "I keep replaying what I said in the meeting today", places it in the star and watches it fade. Worries released in Let Go stay private: they are never posted to the Sky of Thoughts or shown to other users, and no name is attached. Zuzu keeps them privately in its records for analysis and moderation. ## The ambient world Zuzu's interface is time-aware. It shifts between a bright day mode and a calm night mode based on the visitor's local time, with optional ambient sound. The home page is a living sunflower meadow drawn in real time: at night, fireflies drift under twinkling stars and one warm firefly follows the visitor; by day, butterflies fly over the field with faint mountains in the distance, and the light follows the visitor's clock, golden in the morning and evening and bright at midday. The sunflowers slowly turn toward the visitor, and switching themes plays a sunrise or sunset. A live counter shows how many people are active globally at that moment. ## Safety and crisis handling Zuzu is not a crisis service, and it says so plainly. Its [Community Safety page](https://www.zuzu.club/safety) sets out the Community Guidelines: be kind and listen without judging; do not diagnose or push advice; do not ask for or share personal details; no harassment, bullying, threats or stalking; no hate about race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity; no sexual messages, sexual photos or sexual role-play, and no sexual content involving minors, ever; no scams, selling or spam. Everyone is welcome, including LGBTQ+ people. How safety works in practice: - **Chats with a person** are not read by Zuzu, by a person or by AI, to protect privacy. One light keyword check looks for words that suggest someone may be in danger (for example "suicide", "want to die", "hurt myself"). The writer then sees free local helplines, and their chat partner gets a tip to listen gently. Nothing from this check is stored. - **Privacy-first AI guardrails for chat** are being worked on. Experts in AI guardrails, safety or evaluations can offer help at [/support?topic=aiGuardrails](https://www.zuzu.club/support?topic=aiGuardrails). - **Photos** from the other person arrive blurred until tapped. Voice notes play only when pressed. Neither is saved, and neither is checked automatically yet. - **Report:** every chat has a ••• menu with Get help now (free helplines via findahelpline.com), Report and Block. Report reasons: Rude or harassing, Sexual or inappropriate, Hate or threats, Spam or scam, Something else. Zuzu is told right away. Because chats are not saved and there are no accounts, Zuzu cannot read a chat afterwards or ban someone by name; reports help it spot patterns and improve its tools. - **Block** ends the chat at once, and the two people are not matched again for the rest of the visit, even if the page reloads. With no accounts, a block cannot follow someone after they close Zuzu. - **Sky of Thoughts:** every thought and reply is checked by quick rules, OpenAI moderation and a short AI review. Anything unkind, unsafe, spammy or with personal details waits for a person to review it. Sad, angry or heavy feelings are welcome. - **Age:** Zuzu does not ask anyone's age, as part of staying anonymous. There is no minimum age; Zuzu is recommended for people 16 and older, and younger people are asked to take extra care. - **Limits:** Zuzu cannot check who someone is, how old they are, what they want, or whether their advice is right. ## Privacy Zuzu does not require or ask for a name, email address, phone number or account to use its features. Session names are temporary and never tied to a real person. Like any website, Zuzu handles some technical data (IP address, device type, referring site) to run the service, limit abuse and see approximate country and city; it is not used to identify anyone. - **Chats with a person:** not saved, including photos and voice notes. Sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). - **AI Companion:** recent messages are sent to OpenAI to write replies; not saved by Zuzu. - **Let Go:** worries are kept privately in Zuzu's records for analysis and moderation, with emoji, time, device type and approximate location. Never public, never shown to other users, never linked to a name. - **Sky of Thoughts:** public and anonymous by choice. Thoughts stay until removed; there is no delete button, but anyone can ask for removal by writing with the exact text. - **Reports:** the reason, the two temporary names, the time and approximate country are kept for 90 days. Never the messages. - **Blocks:** held in memory only, for the rest of the visit. - **Analytics:** Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand usage; it may be removed later. No advertising cookies, no ads. - **Services:** a cloud hosting provider, OpenAI, Google Analytics, an IP location service, an email service for forms, and private notifications to the founder. Full details are in [Privacy & Terms](https://www.zuzu.club/privacy). ## What Zuzu is not - Not a substitute for professional mental health services - Not a crisis helpline - Not a social media platform - Not a place that stores chat messages after a chat ends - Not a dating service, and not random video chat - Not a service that requires any account, email, or identity ## Pages - [Home](https://www.zuzu.club): start an anonymous chat as a Venter or Listener, or open a ritual. - [Let Go](https://www.zuzu.club/let-go): write a worry, place it in a star, and watch it shrink into the night sky. - [Sky of Thoughts](https://www.zuzu.club/sky-of-thoughts): read and share anonymous feelings, reply kindly, and reach out to the writer of a recent thought. - [About](https://www.zuzu.club/about): the story behind Zuzu and a one minute video. - [FAQ](https://www.zuzu.club/faq): simple answers with examples, in six groups: about Zuzu, chatting with a stranger, Let Go and the Sky of Thoughts, privacy and anonymity, safety and moderation, getting help. - [Vent anonymously](https://www.zuzu.club/vent-anonymously): how to vent to a real listener for free, with no signup. - [Talk to a stranger](https://www.zuzu.club/talk-to-strangers): kind one to one chat with a stranger when you feel lonely. - [Alternatives](https://www.zuzu.club/alternatives): how Zuzu compares with other places to be heard: - [7 Cups alternative](https://www.zuzu.club/7-cups-alternative): simpler, starts in seconds, no account. - [Omegle alternative](https://www.zuzu.club/omegle-alternative): Omegle closed in 2023; Zuzu keeps talking to strangers, but kind and with no video. - [Blah Therapy alternative](https://www.zuzu.club/blah-therapy-alternative): vent to a kind stranger, or release a worry in a calm ritual. - [TalkLife alternative](https://www.zuzu.club/talklife-alternative): peer support with no account and no profile. - [Support](https://www.zuzu.club/support): share Zuzu, buy me a coffee (or Bitcoin), or offer help through a short form. - [Contact](https://www.zuzu.club/contact): questions, feedback or ideas, press or partnerships, and reporting abuse. - [Ask AI](https://www.zuzu.club/ask-ai): "Ask your AI about Zuzu". Its founder has good friends and a close family, yet once needed somewhere to simply say things out loud, without advice and without being fixed. The places they found felt like waiting rooms: cold and ad cluttered. So they studied the subject, ran a survey, and found many people quietly carrying things they had nowhere to put. Zuzu is the answer: "a place to exhale", with a night sky, soft music and full anonymity. It is self-funded and deliberately without monetization. The founder stays anonymous on purpose, so the space stays truly private and anonymous, and the focus stays on Zuzu rather than on them. Read the full story on the [About page](https://www.zuzu.club/about). ## Support and contact - **Support Zuzu** ([/support](https://www.zuzu.club/support)): share it with someone who might need it, [buy me a coffee](https://buymeacoffee.com/zuzuclub) or send Bitcoin, or use the "Offer your help" form to volunteer (listening, checking Sky replies, translating), share mental health or AI guardrails expertise, or offer skills, credits, partnerships, press, legal help or grants. - **Contact** ([/contact](https://www.zuzu.club/contact)): a short form for a question, reporting abuse, feedback or an idea, press or partnerships, or anything else. To report something in a chat right away, use the ••• menu in the chat. - **Email:** hello@zuzu.club. Zuzu Club is a free, anonymous place to say what is on your mind. There is no signup, no login and no account. It has three simple ways to feel lighter: privately, in Let Go, where you release a worry into the night sky; shared, in the Sky of Thoughts, where you post a feeling anonymously and see what others feel; and with a person, in Vent and Listen, where you chat one to one with a real stranger. [Read the story behind Zuzu](https://www.zuzu.club/about) #### Is Zuzu free? Yes. Good vibes, no ads and no paywalls: Zuzu is free for everyone. It is self-funded and kept alive by people who share it, volunteer or choose to donate. [Ways to support Zuzu](https://www.zuzu.club/support) #### Do I need to sign up or download an app? No. Zuzu works in any browser on any phone or computer. If you like, you can add it to your home screen like an app, but you never need an account. #### Can I use Zuzu from any country, at any time? Yes. Zuzu is open 24 hours a day to people all over the world, in every time zone. It is in English for now. ### Chatting with a stranger #### Who will I talk to? You choose a role. If you want to vent, you are matched with someone who chose to listen. If you want to help, you are matched with someone who needs to be heard. If no person is free, you can chat with the Zuzu AI Companion, which is clearly marked as an AI, until someone is. [Talking to a stranger on Zuzu](https://www.zuzu.club/talk-to-strangers) #### What can I say when I vent? Anything that is on your mind, in your own words. You do not need to explain everything or make it sound right. Starting with one small line is enough. For example: "It has been a heavy day." "I just need someone to listen." "I do not know where to start." [How venting works](https://www.zuzu.club/vent-anonymously) #### What is the Zuzu AI Companion? When no person is free, you can chat with the Zuzu AI Companion. It is always labelled "Zuzu AI Companion" at the top of the chat, and it tells you it is an AI if you ask. It is not a person and not a therapist, and it can get things wrong. It stays with feelings and what is going on in your life, and gently turns away things like homework or code. To write its replies, your recent messages in that chat are sent to OpenAI. Zuzu does not save these chats. [Read Privacy & Terms](https://www.zuzu.club/privacy) #### Can I send photos or voice notes? Yes, in chats with a person. To protect you from unwanted images, photos from the other person arrive blurred, and you choose whether to tap and see them. Voice notes only play when you press play. Photos and voice notes go straight to the other person and are not saved. They are not checked automatically yet, so if something is not okay, report and block. ### Let Go and the Sky of Thoughts #### What are Zuzu rituals? Rituals are short, calm, interactive moments that help you feel lighter and put a feeling into words. Zuzu has two today: Let Go, where you release a worry into the night sky, and the Sky of Thoughts, where you share a feeling anonymously and see that others have felt it too. Each takes about a minute, and you do not need to talk to anyone. #### What is Let Go and how does it work? Let Go is a one minute ritual for a worry you keep carrying. You type the worry, it gathers inside a glowing star, and you watch the star slowly shrink and drift into a vast night sky while soft music plays and gentle words keep you company. Seeing your worry grow small against the whole sky can make it feel lighter. For example: You write: "I keep replaying what I said in the meeting today." You place it in the star, and watch it fade into the night. [Try Let Go](https://www.zuzu.club/let-go) #### What is the Sky of Thoughts? The Sky of Thoughts is a shared sky of anonymous feelings. Each emoji floating in it is a real thought from a real person. Tap an emoji to read the thought and leave a kind reply, or add your own and pick an emoji for how you feel. When you share, Zuzu shows you that other people have felt something similar. For example: You tap a 😔 and read: "I have good friends, but there are things I have never told anyone." Then you add your own thought with a 🌧️. [Explore the Sky of Thoughts](https://www.zuzu.club/sky-of-thoughts) #### Can I talk to the person who wrote a thought? Sometimes. If the person who wrote a recent thought is still on Zuzu, you will see a gentle note when you open it, and you can tap Reach out. They get a quiet invitation and can say yes or not now. A chat only starts if they say yes, and you both stay anonymous. Posting a thought never means someone has agreed to talk. For example: You read a thought that feels close to your own and tap Reach out. If they say yes, you are both taken into a private 1:1 chat. [Explore the Sky of Thoughts](https://www.zuzu.club/sky-of-thoughts) #### Can I remove a thought I posted? Thoughts have no account attached, so there is no delete button. If you want one taken down, write to Zuzu with the exact text of the thought and it will be removed. [Contact Zuzu](https://www.zuzu.club/contact) ### Privacy and anonymity #### Is Zuzu really anonymous? Yes. You never give a name, email or phone number, and there is no account. Each session gets a random, temporary name that is never linked to who you are. Like any website, Zuzu still handles some technical data, such as your IP address, to run and protect the service and to see roughly which country a visit comes from. It is never used to find out who you are. For example: Today you might be "Serene Stone". Next time you might be "Quiet Lantern". [Read Privacy & Terms](https://www.zuzu.club/privacy) #### Are my chats saved? No. Chats with a person go straight to the other person and are not saved, including photos and voice notes. When the chat closes, it is gone. If you report someone, Zuzu keeps only the reason and the two temporary names, for 90 days. #### Is what I write in Let Go shared with anyone? No. Worries you release in Let Go are never posted to the Sky of Thoughts, never made public and never shown to other users, and no name is attached to them. Zuzu keeps them privately in its records, to understand how Let Go is used and to keep it safe. [Read Privacy & Terms](https://www.zuzu.club/privacy) ### Safety and moderation #### Does Zuzu read or moderate my chats? No. To protect your privacy, chats with a person are not read by Zuzu, by a person or by AI, and they are not saved. There is one light check: if a message has words that suggest someone may be in danger, like "suicide", "want to die" or "hurt myself", Zuzu gently shows a free helpline to the person who wrote it, and a tip to their chat partner. This happens in the moment and nothing is stored. Safety for chats is meant to grow with privacy-first AI guardrails, and this is being worked on now. If you are an expert in AI guardrails, please reach out. I would love to work on this together. [Offer your AI guardrails expertise](https://www.zuzu.club/support?topic=aiGuardrails) #### Are thoughts and replies in the Sky of Thoughts checked? Yes. New thoughts and replies are checked automatically, with the help of AI. Anything that looks unkind, unsafe, spammy or out of place waits for a person to review it before it appears. Please do not add names, phone numbers, places or anything that could identify you or someone else. [Read Community Safety](https://www.zuzu.club/safety) #### Is Zuzu a safe place for LGBTQ+ people? Yes. Zuzu is for everyone, whatever your sexuality or gender identity. You can talk about coming out, relationships, family, or anything about who you are. Hate or slurs about anyone's identity are not allowed, in chats or in the Sky of Thoughts. If someone is hateful, tap Report and Block. [Read Community Safety](https://www.zuzu.club/safety) #### What if someone is rude or makes me uncomfortable? Tap the ••• menu at the top of the chat. Report tells Zuzu what happened. Block ends the chat right away, and you will not be matched with that person again for the rest of your visit, even if the page reloads. Because there are no accounts, a block cannot follow someone after they close Zuzu. The other person is never told who reported or blocked them. They only see that the chat ended. [Read Community Safety](https://www.zuzu.club/safety) #### What does Zuzu do about harassment or sexual messages? They are not allowed. Tap ••• at the top of the chat, choose Report and pick "Sexual or inappropriate" or "Rude or harassing". You can block at the same time, which ends the chat at once. Photos from the other person are blurred until you choose to see them, so an unwanted image does not catch you by surprise. Zuzu is told about every report right away. Because chats are not saved and there are no accounts, Zuzu cannot read the chat afterwards or ban someone by name, so blocking is the fastest way to protect yourself. Reports help Zuzu spot patterns and make its safety tools better. [Tell Zuzu more on the Contact page](https://www.zuzu.club/contact?topic=report) #### Is there a minimum age? Zuzu does not ask your age, because it does not ask for anything that could identify you. There is no minimum age, but Zuzu is recommended for people 16 and older. If you are younger, please take extra care: never share personal details or photos, leave any chat that feels wrong, and talk to an adult you trust if something upsets you. ### Getting help #### Is Zuzu therapy? No. Zuzu is peer support and self-expression, not therapy. The people you talk to are not therapists, and Zuzu is not a replacement for a doctor, therapist or counselor. It is a place to be heard, not to be diagnosed or treated. #### Is Zuzu a crisis line? No. If you are in danger or thinking about ending your life, please contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline right away. You can find free, private helplines for your country at findahelpline.com. If a chat sounds like someone may be in danger, Zuzu gently shows these resources.
